We first met Steve and Claire in 2011 when they contacted us regarding some outdoor cushions they needed for their furniture on the roof terrace of their beautiful holiday home here in the Costa del Sol.
The following year we made up some light curtains for the tastefully decorated apartment inside. It was then that they mentioned the house they were building back home in Nottingham and asked if we’d be interested in doing the curtains for them there.
Of course, we were very interested and enthusiastic to visit the site in August 2013. It was still early days but we could already see this was going to be a very special home.
The chosen fabric for most of the house was a beautiful grey velvet, lined with a matching lighter fabric.
They were made up in a simple, but very neat and effective ripple pleat which goes perfectly with the design of the house and furniture.
All these curtains were hung on motorized rails.
Leading off the kitchen and dining room they have built a very beautiful, private outdoor patio and we wanted to ensure this view could be enjoyed when inside the house, along with getting all the benefit of the natural light provided by the windows and skylight, so here, we used a lighter sheer fabric composed of a mix of cotton and polyester with the appearance of a natural silk.
Upstairs In the bedrooms and stairwell we used a mixture of both the velvet and the sheers either made up in curtains, Japanese panels or blinds depending on the window and needs of each.
Last but not least. The Cinema room.
Again, here we used the velvet, both on the wall panels and the curtains. The curtains were lined with a blackout fabric to help get the perfect cinema experience in this elegant and very comfortable home cinema.
Many thanks to Steve and Claire from Bellco Developments www.bellcodevelopments.com
for giving us the opportunity and pleasure to work with them on this project as well as their second home here in Spain.
