If you read our Christmas blog last year, you will already know that we are all Christmas-mad here at Ceresi Cortinas, going to great lengths to make it a very special occasion for family and friends – and spreading a little cheer by dressing the shop in its Christmas outfit.
We also do a bit of thinking and planning for the business; looking at what we’ve done right or seeing what hasn’t quite worked as we’d hoped. And this year, one thing that stands out is that I’ve actually succeeded in writing my blog right through the year.
A blog that’s taken you on a (hopefully interesting!) journey through our world of home décor, giving a taste of what lies behind our business; did you see our very brief history of curtains for example, or the piece on curtains using recycled fabrics? We’ve also looked at using linen and given food for thought on the use of colour in your interior designs.
Not forgetting that peek into the cauldron for our Halloween special!
Writing is not really something that comes naturally, so producing a blog needs a lot of thought and can take up a lot of time. So why do I do it? The more cynical out there would argue that it’s all about ‘website traffic’, but to me, it’s so much more than numbers.
We have a real passion for what we do and, as you probably realise by now, I just love to talk about it all – and more! And as we are always seeking new ideas, new products and new ways to do things, the blog quite simply lets us share everything with you, whether that’s a new curtain range, new fabrics, meeting new regulations or décor ideas for your holiday home refurbishment.
It’s not all about us either; not only does writing the blog give you an insight into our thinking, it also opens the door for you to tell us your ideas and help us stay focused on being the business you want us to be. If there’s something that takes your eye in one of my ramblings, feel free to put finger to keyboard and let’s hear your thoughts.
Which all means it’s going to be “Carry On Blogging” for 2017, so watch this space!
For now, it’s back to the task in hand of preparing for the new year and making sure Ceresi Cortinas is in the right place to help you realise your own plans, whether they be a simple change of décor for your home or a more involved refurbishment of a holiday letting ready for the new season.
What’s in line for 2017? There’s plenty of great ideas in-store for shedding the winter blues through changes to your interior décor – even the simple things like introducing a splash of colour with a set of cushions or creating a new look bedroom with a fresh bedding design. As always, we’ll be keeping our finger on the pulse of the latest styles, designs and trends in curtains and blinds. And much more besides!
And yes, you can be sure I’ll be telling you about everything as it happens!
But in the meantime, it’s time to sign off and to say thank you for once again for supporting Ceresi Cortinas throughout another year. And what a year it’s been! We certainly can’t accuse 2016 of being uneventful with its varying degrees of shock, horror, upheaval and controversy hitting us virtually every time we tune in to the news.
So our one wish for everyone is that this Christmas is a happy, peaceful one and we can look forward to a more settled, less shocking new year.
With our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Cathy & Marco
